Crystals of some minerals, when exposed to the Wood’s lamp (Ultraviolet radiation) that emits “black light” (UV rays), return visible light in colours which are different from those exhibited under natural light. This phenomenon is called fluorescence.
On the right side of the showcase, the electrical switch permits the observation of minerals under white or UV light.
