The domus in Cerrato road
Several fragments of mural paintings and of plaster come from this domus. The red-grounded panel
shows one of the most typical Pompeian subjects: the so-called “perspective architectures” with
decorative elements as garlands or bands, but also human figures. A plaster cornice arouses a
particular interest: it is decorated with a relief motive of which the figure of animal has been
preserved.
Finally, other fragments belong to a black wall on which some white, green and red decorations
were painted.
A white-grounded mosaic, decorated with a frame composed by black tesserae, was part of a floor
of this domus.
