It has been dedicated by Caius Cesius, belonging to the Pollia tribus, to his ancestors and to his alive wife. In the text, eight people are mentioned and six of them were already died when the testamentary construction of the sepulchre had been established.
The Medusa, flanked by two Sphynx, is represented on the tympanum of the stele.
